Moving from G-Portal: Complete Step-by-Step Guide
Want to move your G-Portal game server to game-serverhosting? This guide walks you through the entire migration process step by step — from creating a backup to having your server up and running.
What You Need
- Access to the G-Portal dashboard
- About 15–30 minutes (depending on server size)
- Your server data (world, plugins, configuration)
Step 1: Log in to G-Portal and Find SFTP Credentials
- Log in at gportal.com
- Open your game server dashboard
- Select your server
- Navigate to Settings → FTP/SFTP Access
- Note down the following:
- Host: Your server IP or hostname (e.g.
de-4.gportal.com) - Port: Usually
2024(not the standard port 22!) - Username: Your G-Portal customer ID + suffix

- Open the Migration Wizard
- Select your game (e.g. Minecraft, ARK, Valheim)
- Select "SFTP Import" as the import method
- Enter the G-Portal SFTP credentials:

Step 4: Configure and Order Your Server
